 The
continual increase in statutory requirements for noise development in
motor vehicles and also the continual increase in requirements for comfort,
demand innovative solutions.
If the transmission
of noise and vibrations is to be reduced, the resonant bodies must be
insulated from the source of the vibrations. This will be made possible
by fastening with elastic elements that do not transmit noise.
KAMAX has
concerned itself with the task of not only optimizing the function of
such elements, but foremost in achieving a distinct improvement in the
ease of assembly resulting in a more economical solution. The innovative
KAVIP system development solves both tasks. The system is comprised of
two single components: a metal fastening element and an element made of
an elastomer material.
The cold-formed
fastening element can be produced with all forms of Drive systems. The
selection of the material for the elastomer element is designed in relation
to the application, taking economical aspects into consideration. Both
elements are securely connected to one another during the pre-assembly
process.
The head
support of the fastening element is designed as large as necessary. The
main feature is the shoulder design, which fulfills three essential functions.
Its distance from the head support determines the compression of the assembly
and the axial travel. Furthermore, it prevents the pre-assembled fastening
element from falling out. In addition, it provides the necessary security
against the element coming loose after complete assembly within the application.
The effectiveness
of KAVIP has been proven in an acoustic laboratory arid impressively confirmed
in production use. If required, application-specific experiments for fine
tuning can be carried out for each scope of use.
The KAVIP
system is tailor-made for each task. Practically unlimited basic forms,
individual adaptation of the diameter of the supporting ring, and definable
hardness of the elastomer enable a broad range of applications resulting
in the best possible solution for you.
The use of
KAVIP is possible both for cases of application in combination with gaskets
as well as for insulation of gasket-free applications.
